PERFUMER - EDUCATOR - FRANCE
Pierre Benard
Pierre Bénard Ségu, perfumer and concept designer, is a member of the International Society of Perfumers and Creators.
Expert in natural raw materials for perfumery, he is also an olfactory artistic director of OSMOART, perfumes, colors and sounds (www.osmoart.com) with whom he has been developing olfactory concepts for over 20 years.
A biochemist and alchemist with a passion for scents, he embarked on a remarkable journey into the world of fragrances.
For six years, he worked alongside a doctor in plant biotechnology who imparted to him an olfactory culture and deep knowledge across various disciplines closely linked to scent.
Through this mentorship, he gained extensive experience in perfume design and the art of scenting spaces and events, collaborating with renowned brands and artists on olfactory scenographies.
Guided by his love for aromatic plants and perfumes, he continued his education in perfumery, graduating from the University of Science and Technology in Montpellier with a degree in Perfume, Aroma, and Cosmetics. He further honed his skills at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery, where he naturally transitioned into the perfume industry.
Perfumer for renowned Grasse-based and international companies such as Robertet, Payan Bertrand, and Capua, he plays a key role in the research and development of natural raw materials on an industrial and sustainable scale, contributing to the creation of innovative products.
His craft involves transforming, sculpting, shaping, and refining these materials to extract their most exquisite essence.
From these precious materials, he draws inspiration, blending them with synthetic, more linear molecules to create a form, a volume—a perfume that he reveals on the skin or in the air.
